Frequently asked questions

  • โ€œOh, that is when they make the joints go click and pop right?โ€ Well sometimes, but a chiropractic treatment is so much more than just a sound.

Chiropractors work to help the function of your nervous system. Your nervous system includes your brain, spinal cord and nerves, and controls every function within your body.

Your spinal function (how well the joints are moving) has a direct impact on how your whole nervous system functions and a major aim of a chiropractic treatment is to improve spinal function.

As every person is different there are different ways that we can improve spinal function and the health of your nervous system. Manual adjustments (the pops and clicks), mobilisations, using different tools or kinesiology based reflexes are all used specifically based on what you need. Depending on your unique history there is a different chiropractic technique to help.

By restoring the function of your nervous system, your brain is able to reconnect to your body = helping you move better, heal better and overall feel better while being able to cope with the increased pressure of day to day life.

  • TRAUMA โ€“ THOUGHTS - TOXINS

Any overload in your nervous system can cause it to go on high alert & lock-down as a protective mechanism. The result of this is disconnection and dysfunction along the nerve pathways, often in the spinal joints.

Increased physical stress (moving the wrong way, physical injury, poor posture), chemical stress (from our diet and environment) and emotional stress all have the potential to create the changes you feel as tension, dis-ease or pain.

This is why we consider your whole history at Soul Care โ€“ we know you are more than just a physical being and look deeper to help discover what you body is trying to tell you.

Chiropractic care improves your brain-body connection by improving spinal function. You can think of an adjustment as โ€œswitching the lights back onโ€. A reset for your nervous system. You can still walk around your house in the dark โ€“ its just much easier when everything is working efficiently.

  • NO! A traditional manual adjustment often comes with those sounds โ€“ but thatโ€™s not the power of how chiropractic works.

Because an adjustment is about restoring joint and nervous system function this can be done is a variety of different ways. Sometimes your body is just too tight or there are underlying reasons why this isnโ€™t ideal.

We use a range of different techniques to support your whole nervous system and body โ€“ your muscles and joints; digestive, immune & hormone health; and your emotional health to restore balance EXACTLY where it is needed.

Chiropractic care isnโ€™t just there to help you feel better, but to help you heal better.

Dr Alex holding spine

Chiropractic is based on the fact that the nervous system is the master controller of the body. Your spine protects the delicate nerves as they exit the spinal cord and enter the body to communicate the vital information necessary for life.

Over time, we experience physical, chemical and emotional stressors, which interfere with this network, distorts our posture and the spine causing tension and stress on the nerves.

This distortion and loss of function is called Subluxation.

What we do is remove the roadblocks so the body can better perceive itโ€™s needs.

When your body is aware you can heal, adapt and perform at your best.
We work with our hands, to restore balance to your nervous system.

We use a range of different techniques, tailored to the patients needs and comfort.
